46-Year-Old Lenox Man Arrested After Alleged Attempt to Meet Minor Online

A Lenox man is facing serious charges after police say he tried to set up a meeting with someone he thought was a child, according to press release from the Berkshire DA's office.

The Berkshire State Police Detective Unit searched the home of Keith Harrison, 46, at 52 Hubbard Street in Lenox on Tuesday morning. Police say they got the tip from a partner law enforcement agency that had been looking into Harrison's online communications. Investigators say Harrison had been messaging an undercover agent and believed the agent was a child under the age of 14. He allegedly tried to convince the agent to engage in sexual acts.

Harrison worked for Chicopee public schools and has been placed on administrative leave.

“We want to emphasize that there are no allegations that the conduct under investigation occurred on school grounds, involved school resources, or connected with any Chicopee students or staff.”

The district said it, the Chicopee Police Department and the mayor’s office will continue to monitor the situation and cooperate with law enforcement. -wwlp.com

When police executed the search warrant at Harrison's home, they say they found evidence of child sexual assault material.

Harrison is now facing four charges. He's charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, one count of dissemination of child pornography, and one count of attempting to commit indecent assault and battery on a child under 14. Investigators say the case is still open, and more charges could be filed once the investigation wraps up.

Harrison is currently being held on $25,000 cash bail. He's scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning in Central Berkshire District Court.
